The power of roses...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The flower sellers are sad because it is now inappropriate to offer roses for birthdays... The idea of sending 40 roses to someone for its 40 years is a great idea unless they are sent to a politician, especially if we add tickets for the Centre Bell and a Celine's show. However, anyone who works in public relations knows that in order to succeed you need to seduce and the art of seduction is precisely for this reason. But is it appropriate to seduce? That is the question! The debate cannot be set as the opposite of seduction is oppression and the imposition of its will on the other. For the moment, the trend in the fall will be prudence and one will be hesitant to send roses to its customers and friends for fear of being accused of seduction. Fortunately, my friend the florist of St-Jacques Street in Montreal was already preparing for his annual holiday in the south. When he returns to Montreal next spring, fashion flower gift will be, maybe, the new popular trend. To be continued...

Winston McQuade - The actor...

Winston McQuade, former host and sports reporter at Radio-Canada and today a recognized painter is also an excellent actor on TV as one can enjoy his performance in an advertisement about milk. All indications are that we will see Winston again on television as he is very good on the screen and he would certainly be very much appreciated in a regular TV program.

Vito Rizzuto is back...

By Bernard Bujold (leStudio1.com) -
I took the weekend of Thanksgiving to read the biography of the star of the day in Quebec... Vito Rizzuto.
The Book: THE SIXTH FAMILY was published in 2008 but it is still quite relevant. The path of the Rizzuto clan is not far from the unveiling of the Charbonneau Commission and the book is very informative about the history of the mafia. Some might say that the time Rizzuto was the heyday because we live now burst and the end of the reign of organized crime leaders and unorganized, especially on the political level. One could hope that what will replace this layer of society will be better than the old one but I doubt it because nature abhors a vacuum, and all the time the crime has always been at the center of organized life.
When a criminal forfeits the game, another takes its place...

Dream cruise or Dream of cruise ...

By Bernard Bujold (leStudio1.com) -
The Port of Montreal welcomes currently (October 2012) the finest cruise ships in the world. For some, these ships offer cruises dream but for others who can not leave the dock, they are simply cruising dreams ..."There is a wave on the ocean of life, which if taken at the right moment the ship to the shore lead to new lands full of hope and promise, but if it is missed then this will fail and the misery ... The Mayor of Laval - Gilles Vaillancourt

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
I have known the mayor of Laval because I worked for a few months at Laval Technopole (early 2000), and previously I worked closely with his office while I was assistant to the president of Quebecor (1991-97) and the company had significant printing plants in this city. I can not blame any financial improprieties to the Mayor with me but I can tell a little story that happened to me personally ... I had began a new job to take care of public relations at Laval Technopole and one of the major suppliers contacted me to invite me to lunch and give me some friendly tips to carry my new role. The lunch went well until the next day, I received a bill for several hundred dollars ($ 1,500) for the advice I had received during the lunch... I not only paid lunch but now Laval Technopole had to pay for discussion. I reported the situation to the Director General at the time, mentioning that it seemed inappropriate and mismanagement to pay such invoice. The director said he agreed with me but I also felt that I disturbed a honeycomb. A few months later I was thanked me for my services after the supplier in question has told me by phone a few days before the announcement, that according to him, the chemistry did not work between me and Laval Technopole and this could lead unfortunately, to my eventual firing... Fortunately for me, I had not moved to Laval and I had as a token in my personal album a picture taken with the Mayor...

DEBATE FOR PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES MITT ROMNEY: 1 / BARACK OBAMA: 0

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The miracle happened and the opponent has knocked the champion. One could describe this way the result of the first of three debates between the two candidates for President of the United States. According to all the major media polls, Mitt Romney won a clear and unequivocal victory. According to figures from CNN, the result would be 67% for Romney against only 25% for Obama. The other two debates between the two men will be held on 16 and 22 October while the election to the presidency will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

BARACK OBAMA / MITT ROMNEY - Debate 1

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
Tonight Wednesday, October 3rd will host the first debate between the two U.S. presidential candidates. The aspirant Mitt Romney must win the debate if he wants to take the lead in the presidential race and Obama need only a draw to maintain his lead. Unfortunately for Romney, Obama is a difficult opponent to face in a debate because he never loses control and he never allows himself to give in to provocation. His calm is his best weapon.
To watch tonight on all the television networks at 9 pm.

JUSTIN TRUDEAU - The new politician...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
Justin Trudeau is the youth and change. The packaging is perfect and he is a very refreshing politician for the Canadian and Quebec politics. The question now is whether the product will live up to the proposals. In a sense, Justin Trudeau is reminiscent of the Barack Obama of 2008. Inescapable charisma that inspires hope and dream.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER - TOTAL RECALL

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The new autobiography of Arnold Schwarzenegger released Monday 1 October 2012, TOTAL RECALL, is a very interesting book about a very interesting character...
I have known Arnold through my friend Ben Weider, who was originally with his brother Joe Weider, responsable for immigration to the United States of the bodybuilding champion. The two brothers Weiders had paid for the trip to America and had given him a job as a coach in their gyms and as a columnist in their fitness magazines. Arnold Schwarzenegger has followed the teachings of both masters and will have overpassed his teachers by his success, his achievements as well as failures...
Ben Weider has often told me of Arnold and he said that he had the power to focus on its objectives and that when he wanted to get a result, he became as tranformed. Ben said he never saw no other man to have such a capability. He also added that Arnold could perform great thing but it had to come from him. Nobody could impose an idea or to control him. Its journey, its successes and its failures, are proof of that...
CBS 60 minutes presented a special report about this book.
