Independence Day of the United States, also referred to as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Congress declaring that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire!

JULIE SNYDER AND DETECTIVES (PART 1)

Julie Snyder complained to the Quebec City police against an individual who was following her, and who asked questions about her, but when confronted identified himself as a private detective... 
If a detective has a valid license and a client, it is legal to monitor someone and all good law firms use this tool in their research work everyday. This tool is obviously expensive and you have to  get a worthy cause and, above all, a customer with the appropriate budget! 
The trick (for the detective) is obviously not to get caught, otherwise the goal is completely out when the target discovers the detective...
The question: Who did follow Julie Snyder? 
Pierre Karl Péladeau told reporters that it was not him... 
This mishap in Julie's life remember me my years at Quebecor (1998) when I had been myself the target of private detectives for several months. 
"More the times change, the more they stay the same"

BIRTHDAY 2016: MUSIC, SINGING, WINE, FISH AND... DONALD TRUMP

The date of 28 June means another year that is added to my life story. 
This year I decided to upset tradition and, instead of "blowing" the candles, I have "lit" them... 
My philosophy of life is simple! I think there are three important moments in life: birth, death and the now. The now moment is an in between two and consists of anecdotes that are sometimes pleasant, sometimes unpleasant, but in any case, these events will pass and become memories. Life events are like doors or windows that open to other doors and windows; other anecdotes of our life story. 
For my birthday in 2016, I had a chance, early on Tuesday morning June 28, 2016, to be wished Happy Birthday with songs and beautiful music, in addition of course of candles and the famous miracle of fish and wine... 
I even had an “magic” appearance by Donald! 
Thank you to everyone for your good wishes and birthday thoughts!

BRITAIN VOTED TO LEAVE THE EUROPEAN UNION AND DONALD TRUMP CELEBRATED BY VISITING HIS NEW GOLF RESSORT

Britain has voted to leave the European Union, a historic decision that will reshape the nation’s place in the world. 
Not long after the vote tally was completed, on Friday June 24, 2016, Prime Minister David Cameron resigned. 
This result will have direct consequences in the United States as Barack Obama campaigned with Cameron against the separation. 
The success of the anti open immigration vote in Britain is a big success for Donald Trump in the US who wants also act against open borders. 
From another angle, the decision by the United States Supreme Court against Obama immigration legacy will also put the issue on November's ballot. 
Donald Trump celebrated the British victory happily but calmly by visiting with his family his new golf resort in Scotland...

PIERRE LALONDE (1941-2016)

PIERRE LALONDE was a symbol for an entire generation of Quebecers, including myself. A page of the history of Quebec was turned with his death on Tuesday, June 21- 2016. 
With its weekly program JEUNESSE D'AUJOURD'HUI on channel 10 of Télémétropole, Pierre Lalonde was as important and popular throughout Quebec as a "David Letterman" was among Americans. A unique talent! 
I took this series of photos on June 30, 2003 in the Old Port of Montreal during the celebrations of Canada Day. At the time, while the Prime Minister was Jean Chrétien, ceremonies for July 1 lasted 3 days and the budget was high... 
Pierre Lalonde had marked my teens and I wanted to enjoy his show as well as to get to photograph him. This series of pictures has never been published before now... 
Too bad that I have not made the effort to send him copies but I thought that a star like him was not interested in another series of photos of him during a show. 
Accepts my friendships, dear Pierre Lalonde!
