ELECTIONS CANADA 2015 - VICTORY OF JUSTIN TRUDEAU

By Bernard Bujold-
According to my vision of political life, there are two parts to any government anywhere in the world. Part 1, the election; and Part 2, the management.
I love election part which I compare to a sports competition. The challenge is to predict the winner!
I sensed a majority government by Justin Trudeau already two weeks before the voting day and on election day, Monday, October 19, I predicted at 6 pm (online at 7:30 p.m.) a majority of 180 MPs for Justin Trudeau, 108 MPs for Stephen Harper, 50 for Thomas Mulcair, and none for Gilles Duceppe ...
I have not won in the details of the figures, but I won in the order the horses!
Does Justin Trudeau will be a good Prime Minister? For him to prove it and fulfill it.
I think Justin is someone that surprises and it makes me think of Donald Trump.
The philosophy of the new Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, is similar directly to the leadership candidate of American Republicans, Donald Trump. Indeed, both advocate "Overcoming the fear of change and innovation through better effort."
One may think that the present society is sympathetic to that philosophy and it is a safe bet that Donald Trump will be elected President of the United States, ensuring that the new politics in North America (Canada and USA) will become a case of self-confidence!
Finally, I am very pleased with the re-election of Ruth Ellen Brosseau. I predicted her victory because she is a real good person who took seriously the responsibility that her voters had entrusted to her.
Congratulations to all the candidates of the 2015 election, winners and losers, and for the rest: To be continued...

ELECTIONS CANADA 2015 - JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND A MAJORITY GOVERNMENT

By Bernard Bujold -
Since the outbreak of the current federal election 2015, my voting intentions fostered, in turn, to each of the four leaders of the major parties.
Indeed, at first I was in favor of Justin Trudeau who I discovered in April 2007 when he sought the nomination in Papineau. I noticed his special charisma and his energy when he had shaken hands with everyone in the room (several hundred). I also knew his father as a journalist and I can say that the son resembles him.
A few weeks after the start of the current campaign, however, I changed my intention to vote when I saw that Justin did not seem to perform and he appeared headed for a humiliating defeat...
So I decided to go with Gilles Duceppe that I consider brave to be out of retirement. I have great respect for Duceppe even if I am of no allegiance to the PQ and I probably never will vote for the Parti Québécois led by Pierre Karl Péladeau.
However, noting the limited Duceppe effect in the polls, again I changed my intention to vote and decided to side with Thomas Mulcair who seemed to have the energy of the winner. However, I was disappointed when I met him (and photographed him) during a rally in Montreal. It does not appear to me to have the depth nor the true side of his opponents, in my judgment, of course...
It was then that my voting intentions turned to Stephen Harper. We can say that it is a stern politician but it is also a serious manager. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times (and photograph). The first time I met him was in March 2004 and I was a campaigner for Belinda Stronach who sought the leadership of the Conservative Party. Belinda had an extraordinary charisma but Harper (I believed him at the time to be the son of the hockey player Terry Harper...) defeated Belinda and he was brought to the head of the Conservative Party with more than 55% of votes on the first count, even without any charisma ...
But eventually just days before this October 19, 2015 vote, and finding that my favorite Justin Trudeau has the wind in its sails, I changed again my intention and my choice of vote on the ballot will go to his party and its candidate.
Also, since it is good custom to make predictions, mine is that Justin might surprise us and win a majority government in the style of Brian Mulroney in 1984.

MARCEL AUBUT AND HIS CASTLE

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Marcel Aubut's actions are totally unacceptable but nobody can replace him at the Olympic Committee and defend the interests of Francophone Quebec athletes as he did. The man imposed his vision!
Now, is it better to be less present at the Olympic sporting level and that women are better respected? I believe so! But not crazy, no castle.
This is deeply unfortunate, but by my observation and my experience of professional life, I can say, and in an inescapable way, that all great builders are great at the height of their faults. Steve Jobs, for who it is just coming out a movie, was an unpleasant boss as possible, but he created the Apple castle. Those who preceded him at the management of the company had more normal human behavior but Apple was not going anywhere. The madness of Steve Jobs was also his genius.
Here in Quebec, all the great builders from Jean Coutu, André Bérard, Alain Bouchard (Couche-Tard), and of course Pierre Péladeau who I knew well, just to name a few, had or still have a particular personality and sometimes unpleasant, but it was also essential to success in the creation of their company.
For Aubut, indeed we must make a choice. A builder as cheeky and disrespectful as Aubut or another one more polite and friendly but less builder...
This is a societal choice but that we can not have both. Such is life!

THE FUTURE OF THE INTERNET IN 2015

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
At the beginning of the Internet in the 1990s, the whole universe of the Web was considered a space which could be physically occupied by more or less static websites much like shops or showrooms.
Today in 2015, the Internet world has become a space time where the moment now is the essence of communication on the web.
The Wall Street Journal presents an accurate analysis of this transformation.

PIERRE KARL PELADEAU AND GILLES DUCEPPE - THE ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe met its militants Saturday, October 3 as part of the campaign Elections Canada 2015.
Gilles Duceppe was accompanied by the PQ leader, Pierre Karl Péladeau who was there to introduce the Bloc leader.
I'm not particularly a fan of PKP but I wanted to see his oratory qualities, since he had told me in the past not to be a great public speaker...
Well, I must admit that he has studied well since because he became a theatrical speaker and he knows how to raise the crowd. He applies acting stuff and obviously he has learned the lesson from of one or many masters who taught him...
PKP performance was such that at one point, I thought that Gilles would be sad and boring since his presenter was so energetic. Finally, Duceppe has also performed well but in a more quiet style using humour style Yvon Deschamps.
Here is a photographic study of the speaker talent of the two politicians that are Pierre-Karl Péladeau and Gilles Duceppe.

MARCEL AUBUT - DEATH OF GOD ...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The final resignation of Marcel Aubut to the presidency of the Canadian Olympic Committee also means the death of a kind of god as the English called him "The Rainmaker."
Personally, as the majority of people who attended, directly or indirectly, the VIP circles in Quebec, I knew since 1997 that he was harassing women.
In my case, it was an artist, famous on Quebec television, who had told me about but she would not publicly unveil her story. She however told her secret to her surroundings and many of her friends. Besides, I also know of two other women who were victims of sexual harassment by another entrepreneur than Marcel Aubut and they neither does not want to tell their misadventure publicly. They consider that the stress would be too large to be displayed in the media and they prefer to forget! This is sad but so is life ...
However it can be said that the career of Marcel Aubut is over as a rainmaker and he will not make miracle again, at least not with women!

MARCEL AUBUT ACCUSED OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The big boss of the Canadian Olympic Committee Marcel Aubut is in the same kind of situation (behavior and sexual harassment) as Jian Ghomeshi with Radio Canada except that its board of directors does not support him contrary to the direction of Radio Canada which had long defended their star radio host.
Marcel Aubut announced his resignation for the time of the inquiry.
Personally, I expected since 1997 this kind of scandal around Marcel Aubut because a Quebec artist had told me a personal story related to Marcel and similar to the new accusations, a story that I believed more or less ...
I would say that many of our leaders (over 50% at least ...) are "reprehensible" either for illicit sex, money on expense accounts, commissions on service contracts, or simple theft of jeans ...
I'm not really in the circuit VIP anymore, but I still know at least a dozen cases of"reprehensible" specific to business leaders or organizations. These are well-kept secrets, and unspoken truths.
The case of Lise Thibault, Lieutenant Governor, is the least worst profiteers that I know ...
The luck for many is that they die before the scandal broke and their story is forgotten for eternity, if not, for the other outlaws who are still alive, there is always the risk that the public discover the secret from one day to the other, especially with modern internet media!
It is only a matter of time, or chance with death!
In the case of Marcel Aubut, he is in bad luck because a second victim also accused him of sexual harassment and, according to some observers who know him personally, they claim that there would still be several others women who kept the secret until now...
To be continued!

LISE THIBAULT - EX-LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF QUEBEC IN PRISON

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Former Lieutenant Governor Lise Thibault, avoids the federal penitentiary but she received a prison sentence of 18 months in prison (under 2 years at a provincial Quebec institution).
She will also have to pay $ 100,000 to Federal and $ 200,000 to the provincial governement. CONCLUSION: "It is better to stole jeans in a department store rather than milking the expense account of his employer."
