JEAN-PIERRE COALLIER RETIRING FROM RADIO CLASSIQUE MONTRÉAL
Par Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Quietly, the morning man and ex-owner of Radio Classique has taken a new retirement, this time from his own radio.
Remember that Jean-Pierre Coallier sold last December (2014) his two radio stations (Montreal and Quebec) to Gregory Charles. The transaction amount (according to documents CRTC) was $ 10.5 million.
Jean-Pierre Coallier will have finally made a success with his project which at first seemed more or less promising. I remember that he came to see me to ask for Pierre Peladeau and Quebecor to invest in the project. Péladeau loved Coallier but he refused the invitation, "claiming" that the accounting at Quebecor could not find profitability. Coallier was very disappointed but he did not abandon his idea because of the refusal and he continued alone. That was in September 1995...
Happy retirement to you Jean-Pierre!
