BIRKS AND THE BEAUTIFUL ERA ...

The Birks store in downtown Montreal has been closed for a few weeks until the end of the transformation of space into a luxury hotel. There will be a small Birks shop at the entrance. Every time I walk past the Birks Gate, I have a certain sadness because for me Montreal was the Birks store downtown! My first visit to the store was in 1978, 40 years ago when I first visited Montreal. 
It was the beautiful era ...
