THE END OF NEWSPAPERS IN 2019 -

Over twenty years ago, when I was in the management of newspapers, the best selling booth in Quebec was the one of Nuns' Island. 
This small point of sale was the property of an old man, of Russian origin, with a strong build, but of short size. A few years ago, around 2010, the kiosk changed owners and a middle-aged couple, of Asian origin, took over. It was about the same time that the newspapers world entered a crisis of survival... 
We could say that the new owners were not lucky in terms of timing! 
Since the beginning of this February 2019, the small kiosk displays a "closed" sign and the few shelves are abandoned with in memory a few piles of old newspapers unsold. 
If there is one conclusion, sad for the nostalgic of the paper era, is that the future of newspapers is definitely moribund and of the past...
