The end of the world is not global warming but the absence of electricity. 
The example of Old Montreal on a Friday morning in this September when electricity is cut for more than 6 hours because of a gas leak. In addition, the generator of a building of high condos calls it dead at the same time... 
No more elevator, no more light in the corridors, no more way of cooking lunch or making coffee, no more telephones (appliances run on electricity), no more charging for electric cars, no more internet, nothing. In short, the death of civilization. 
Fortunately, the electricity was back on the hour of noon but imagine if the supply had never returned? 
It was end of the world in 2019!
