Gloria Vanderbilt, mother of the journalist Anderson Cooper and grand daughter of the transport and railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt, died in New York at age 95. She had cancer. 
Gloria Vanderbilt was an artist, writer and business woman in the fashion industry.
