ANDERSON COOPER AND GLORIA VANDERBILT - THE RAINBOW COMES AND GOES

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1)-
My reading for this spring 2016 will be the new book by Anderson Cooper and his mother Gloria Vanderbilt: THE RAINBOW COMES AND GOES.
This book is a love message from a son to his mother and a mon's life lesson to his son. If many know Anderson because of CNN; his mother (92 years old) is like an icon of New York because of the Vanderbilt heritage. The Vanderbilt family is an American family of Dutch origin that was prominent during the Gilded Age. Their success began with the shipping and railroad empires of Cornelius Vanderbilt, and the family expanded into various other areas of industry and philanthropy.
This book is very interesting and very well written. It is like if you have in your living room both Anderson and Gloria.
A must read!

HAPPY EASTER 2016

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1)
-Easter represents rebirth to life. Whether one is a believer of a religion or atheist (like me ...) the fact remains that life is a mystery!
Personally, this Easter, I will make a visit to a religious temple because I love the arts and the most beautiful museum that we can visit still remains, according to me, a church.
Some may prefer to think about the stars and infinity as is the case of Claude Castonguay, who signs a very interesting text (in French) about what is a human life, according to him!
Anyway: HAPPY EASTER to all!

FIREFIGHTERS AND THE BIG LADDER...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Nothing is more annoying than to hear fire trucks sirens while you prepare for bed! This is what happened to me on Thursday night (March 24, 2016) shortly before midnight when a building in Old Montreal, next to my residence, was in flames. We are often critical of police work but we must recognize that firefighters are showing courage that is not given to all. Here are some pictures of the firemen who were busy on the big ladder to fight the fire in my neighbourhood...

THE MARRIAGE OF JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND BARACK OBAMA

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The visit of Justin Trudeau and his family to the Barack Obama (March 9 to 11, 2016) is a kind of wedding, but do not create illusions. Obama will soon be an ex-president and he will be out of power. This marriage is not expected to survive!
Starting next year (January 20, 2017) Justin Trudeau will have to date a new United States leader who will probably be the colorful Donald Trump...
Obama is reminiscent of an entrepreneur who wants to enjoy the company expense account to do the party before leaving his job...
The funniest of the story is that Barack wants to come to Ottawa to continue the party...

MADAM LISE THIBAULT - THE ARTIST

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
One might call the former Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, Lise Thibault, to be an artist, or at least a symbol of the arts!
Indeed, although I do not know her personally, I had the opportunity to meet her a few times and there was always a relationship with the arts; be they painters, sculptors and other disciplines. Lise Thibault was a great friend of the artists and she has organized numerous exhibitions and events to help them.
We can therefore conclude that the fall of the Lieutenant Governor is also the loss of a great pillar of the art world as is also the case with Jutra and Cloutier in their respective fall.
All those society torch losses lead to a sad finding! Our leaders can quickly become outcasts but they were useful before becoming bad.
The Gilles Vaillancourt, Guy Turcotte, Jacques Delisle, Vincent Lacroix and others were not unknown fellows in our society. When we met them (before their fall), we called them "sir" and "madam" and they were very respected in the community.
If there is one conclusion, it is that in the future, one should be a little more careful before calling someone: Mister or Madam...

STORY OF BEAVERS

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
There was a time when the beaver was a priceless economic value to the country's development. Today, however, we may wonder if this animal, skilled woodworkers, did not become a dangerous nuisance for our forests near the cottages.
I actually was surprised to find that the beavers friends do not enjoy the same landscape that I and they do not hesitate to cut a tree or two that interest them for their own cottage...
With the upcoming arrival of spring (the beavers season), I may have to become a trapper like at the time of my ancestors!
