Is it true? It's impossible to really know this with the Elves, but one thing is certain, the three visitors made it a point to visit the Montreal Mary-Queen-of-the-World Cathedral very early on the morning of December 17th, the day of the birthday of Francis, and to take a moment in front of his picture installed there...

I helped them make their choice of books for the holiday season 2018: 
1. LOUISE PENNY and her new polar whose riddles are really unpredictable but of a quite logical reality(the action takes place in part in the Golden Square Mile of Montreal);  
2. MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING, the book that MARIA SHARAPOVA made me discover; 
3. 12 RULES FOR LIFE, my son's favorite book; 
4. LAST MAN STANDING, a novel in the style of the best TV series of the NCIS genre, FBI, SEALS, etc .; 
5. THINK AND GROW RICH, a book I have read at least twenty times since my adolescence, and which I read again today, to inspire for spiritual and financial wealth; 
6. THE SPY AND THE TRAITOR, a biographical account involving a Russian spy, a book quite appropriate at this time of the Arab Prince, Vladimir Putin and the Mueller inquiry about our friend Donald Trump.

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN 2019

If there is an exhibition to be seen during the holiday season it is the one on photography presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. A way to better understand what photography is in this modern era and with the new year 2019 on our doorstep. 
The photos on display come from the collection Jack Lazare, a Montreal collector. 
I visited the exhibition and I can say that, although sober and easy in terms of images, everything about the art of photography is found in this presentation. For young photographers as well as for experts, as for the general public, a look at this collection of a hundred photos becomes a real total look at what photography is about. Everything is there and you just have to look to understand and learn. 
For fans of anecdotes, the opening photo from the presentation is a topic of discussion among photographers since several years. Indeed the image "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange was taken in 1936. In 1939, the author decided to erase in the dark room the thumb of the woman that we saw at the bottom of the image (a kind of maneuver like the photoshop of today...). 
The photo exhibition at the Museum continues until April 28, 2019 Note that between December 22 and January 6 access to the museum is free for the general public except the main exhibition (Calder).

The city of Paris is the seat of attacks by "Yellow Vests" that one would think to come directly from the time of Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution! 
President Emmanuel Macron is absent from the public square since a week and he lost control of the situation. 
What will be the conclusion of these revolts? 
Concerns are emerging across the whole global political spectrum.

THE BEAUTY OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN 2018

While the current debate is about French language protection outside Quebec, an excellent tool to help develop the use of French is the computer program ANTIDOTE 10. 
I was a user of Antidote 9 since its inception and I appreciated its effectiveness. So I installed the version Antidote 10 and I'm not disappointed! 
The software offers text correction services written directly from various social sites like Facebook, Google Mail, etc., as well as a dictionary service. You must choose a correction language during installation (license purchase) in French or English; it is also possible to install the software in both languages (purchase of a dual license). 
Personally, I write half-and-half in each of these languages, so I installed the bilingual module. The effectiveness of correction is impressive especially the ability to change language automatically according to the portions of the text written in French or English in the same folder. 
With the approach of Christmas, it is obvious that this kind of software will be the gift of choice especially for lovers of the French language. 
The Druide Informatique group launched Antidote 10 in early November in Montreal on the occasion of their 25th anniversary. The official launch looked like Apple's events with staging and party spirit. 
Congratulations to the group and especially Merry Christmas to all lovers of the French language...

One may ask: What is the story of a life? 
Is it day to day and "now moments" or is it the look of history after death? 
The case of George H. W. Bush is very interesting in this respect! 
Indeed, during his tenure as president, US citizens viewed Bush as weak in economic management of the United States and did not re-elect him for a second term in 1992. 
George H.W. Bush was very sad at the time. 
Today, after his death, everyone considers him one of the greatest American president of all time... What is the true story of a life? His day-to-day moments or his memory? 
Brian Mulroney will say a word at the official ceremony.
