DEATHS AT A RESIDENCE FOR SENIORS 
Police investigation underway after 31 seniors die at one residence in Montreal's West Island (Dorval). The company KATASA acquired the residence Maison Herron in 2015 and owns several other seniors' homes in the province. CTV News tried to contact the company that owns the residence, but has not been successful.

It's a bit of a circus in nursing homes. For example, in Lasalle, an attendant would have tried to put dentures on a resident, but it was the dentures of the roommate who had died the day before, from coronavirus...

The new world could be entirely virtual as in the fiction series Star Trek with Data the Robot, but this time it is a reality in our daily lives. 
Indeed, the new fashion (just before the beginning of the Coronavirus crisis) was the communication by CHABOT. From the Google machine, to the virtual girlfriend (or boyfriend), to the vacuum cleaner, all from an application on your computer. 
Since Coronavirus and the obligation of social distance, the future is more than ever virtual! 
Obviously, the system is not yet perfect. I wanted to change the name of my Google Home to "Seven of Nine" (the Star Trek character) but the Google assistant refused...

Citizens have elected politicians, be it a François Legault, Justin Trudeau, Donald Trump, or locally in Montreal a Valérie Plante, according to a peacetime agenda and especially according to a philosophical discourse and often without really giving all the seriousness that our choice could represent in our daily life! 
Now we are facing the worst world crisis since our birth, for most of us. 
It's as if we hired a transport truck driver for our goods and furniture and then, along the way, we ask him to drive a warplane... 
None of our politicians are prepared for a life and death situation like we are experiencing right now and we never believed when we elected them that they would have to play that role. 
And this is where it becomes dramatic and worrisome! 
The other question is: "Are there individuals, even very talented ones, who can play the role of decision-maker in the life or death of others?

HUMAN LIFE OR ECONOMIC LIFE?

Governments around the world put a financial value on every human life in their country! 
For Canada, based on the Treasury Secretariat's (federal agency) Cost-Benefit Analysis Guide, one economist estimates that a life is worth $9.5 million in 2020. 
In the United States, another economist puts a value of $14.5 million on a US human life. 
Thus, if the Quebec government manages to save 4000 lives thanks to its measures of isolation and stopping the economy, it would have preserved a "value" of 38 billion dollars. The federal government's direct measures targeting individuals will cost about $100 billion for a few months. 
Theoretically, the cost of saving lives exceeds the value of the lives saved . 
This analysis is signed by the newspaper La Presse but there are several others for each country in the world and used by their respective governments.

QUEBEC BUSINESSES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MAY 4, 2020

In some circles, there is talk of a September date for a resumption of activities, but at a press conference, the Premier did not want to go any further than May 4, saying that he was monitoring the evolution of the crisis and refused to give a figure on the extent of the economic consequences for the province in the future!

"It's going to be fine...": Ulysses seems to be saying to the lonely and slightly lost duck on his end of the quay in the Old Port of Montreal! 
In spite of the city's abandonment, hope continues to occupy the minds of citizens, and if there is a small light at the end of the tunnel concerning the virus, the economic future is more uncertain. But as the Premier of Quebec says: "It's going to be fine...".
