THE SANTA'S ELVES AND THE TIFFANY JEWELRY - 2018 HOLIDAY SEASON

Santa's Elves love to play tricks and one of their favorite is to change items in the showroom of department stores. 
Their victim of this season is Tiffany on Sherbrooke Street. 
Indeed, the three elves took advantage of their visit to the store to replace the bear cub mascot Tiffany by the one of Donald Trump! 
The host that I am of the three elves was very proud of their feat...

THE FEAR OF MY LIFE, OR FEAR FOR MY LIFE!

Imagine the situation: "... On a peaceful Tuesday morning around 8:30 am, you go to put some package inside the car's trunk parked in a private indoor garage and you notice that the canvas usually covering the bike is on the ground... " 
I thought the cover must have slipped even though it was hooked securely. I bend to put the canvas back and it is held on the ground by what looks like a heavy package like a sack of soil... 
I am surprised because the bike is still standing and there is nothing else, except the bike, tat is  stored behind the car that can form a package... 
I pull firmly on the canvas and to my amazement, an individual is lying and sleeping wrapped in the canvas of the bike. 
I got the fear of my life, or a fear for "my life"! 
The tragedy is that you expect to touch a metal bike and instead you touch an unknown form of  life! It's quite an experience and a surprise. 
The city has become a jungle...

The Santa Claus's Elves say they are a great friend of Pope Francis... 
Is it true? It's impossible to really know this with the Elves, but one thing is certain, the three visitors made it a point to visit the Montreal Mary-Queen-of-the-World Cathedral very early on the morning of December 17th, the day of the birthday of Francis, and to take a moment in front of his picture installed there... 
Happy Birthday dear Pope Francis!

THE ELVES GO FOR TEA AT THE RITZ -

Santa Claus's Elves love to go for tea at the Ritz on Sherbrooke Street and play with the special electric train set up for the holidays. 
THE ELVES are also enjoying their annual visit to do some tricks like to light the fireplace, for the greatest pleasure of the other guests on site.

Santa's Elves have discovered reading... 
I helped them make their choice of books for the holiday season 2018: 
1. LOUISE PENNY and her new polar whose riddles are really unpredictable but of a quite logical reality(the action takes place in part in the Golden Square Mile of Montreal);  
2. MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING, the book that MARIA SHARAPOVA made me discover; 
3. 12 RULES FOR LIFE, my son's favorite book; 
4. LAST MAN STANDING, a novel in the style of the best TV series of the NCIS genre, FBI, SEALS, etc .; 
5. THINK AND GROW RICH, a book I have read at least twenty times since my adolescence, and which I read again today, to inspire for spiritual and financial wealth; 
6. THE SPY AND THE TRAITOR, a biographical account involving a Russian spy, a book quite appropriate at this time of the Arab Prince, Vladimir Putin and the Mueller inquiry about our friend Donald Trump.

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN 2019

If there is an exhibition to be seen during the holiday season it is the one on photography presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. A way to better understand what photography is in this modern era and with the new year 2019 on our doorstep. 
The photos on display come from the collection Jack Lazare, a Montreal collector. 
I visited the exhibition and I can say that, although sober and easy in terms of images, everything about the art of photography is found in this presentation. For young photographers as well as for experts, as for the general public, a look at this collection of a hundred photos becomes a real total look at what photography is about. Everything is there and you just have to look to understand and learn. 
For fans of anecdotes, the opening photo from the presentation is a topic of discussion among photographers since several years. Indeed the image "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange was taken in 1936. In 1939, the author decided to erase in the dark room the thumb of the woman that we saw at the bottom of the image (a kind of maneuver like the photoshop of today...). 
The photo exhibition at the Museum continues until April 28, 2019 Note that between December 22 and January 6 access to the museum is free for the general public except the main exhibition (Calder).
