LINO SAPUTO AND THE JOURNALISTS...

We can conclude that Lino Saputo has "enemies" at Radio-Canada and La Presse...
Indeed, for a purpose that is difficult to identify, if not to give a bad image to the autobiography that Saputo recently published, the hosts of Radio-Canada's Enquête broadcasted, Thursday evening, January 16, 2020, a report that put forward the theory that Lino Saputo would have rubbed elbows with and collaborated with influential members of organized crime (mafia).
Strangely, no other media except Radio-Canada / CBC and La Presse did mention the story and no political party wanted to give the report any seriousness except Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois of Québec Solidaire who suggested that the decoration of the Order of Quebec held by Saputo be removed. Following this political suggestion, Liza Frulla, the President of the Order of Quebec responded that :
"...The program Enquête, it is not a trial... "she argued in an interview with La Presse.
We'll have to see what happens next, but knowing the legendary energy of Lino Saputo, it's obvious that he will want to demonstrate the falsity of the report.

LE DEVOIR - 110 YEARS -

Today, Friday, January 10, 2020, Le Devoir celebrates its 110th anniversary!
I knew seven of the ten newspaper's editors...
The most colourful was without a doubt Claude Ryan! A key figure in his day who was a real source of influence in the community. He was also very thrifty and during his reign, Le Devoir was financially very solid. It was after his departure that the situation changed, first influenced by the surprise appointment of a director from outside the newspaper (Jean-Louis Roy) and then by the change in Quebec society and the media world.
Strangely enough, today in 2020 it is the dean of newspapers, La Presse, founded in 1884, that has disappeared from the newsstands, while Le Devoir has survived despite very serious financial crises that should have been fatal to it.
Today, Le Devoir is considered the number one newspaper in Quebec, if not in its circulation, at least in terms of its influence and quality.
Happy birthday LE DEVOIR ...
