JAPPELOUP - World Film Festival of Montreal 2013

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
Director Christian Duguay made a wonderful film in terms of images and the actors are excellent. Unfortunately, the film JAPPELOUP should have been identified as fiction rather a semi-biographical and it is too long (130 minutes total).
Duguay should have presented his film as director Mathieu Roy did with his film ANOTHER HOUSE and say that he was inspired by his father, journalist Michel Roy, but that he has completely reinvented the story. He even gave a title to the film other than the name of his father. Duguay could have call his film A CHAMPION HORSE rather than Jappeloup.
The true Olympian who inspired the story, Pierre Durand, rejected the film in France saying that he does not recognize himself in the featured character but he admits that the document is an excellent school for lovers riding. To explain his criticism of the reality of the film, Durand mentioned the example of his father, who did not die before the Olympic of 1988 as reported by the script but last year in 2012...
The technique and the art of riding, however are well presented in the images said the Olympic champion.
The film was released in France last spring and has attracted more than 2 million spectators and will be in theaters in Quebec on September 6.
A movie to watch for all lovers of horses and riding!

The New York Times is a victim from Internet

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The site of the New York Times was still off Wednesday afternoon (28 August 2013) almost 24 hours later and had to publish his newspaper news on an alternative site as the central facility and the site for iPad were out of service since Tuesday afternoon 3 pm.
A group of hackers from Syria claimed responsibility for the attack.
This situation shows the fragility of the Internet system in the world.
This also meant, for some, a return to the old version of the paper New York Times...
Syrien hackers tried to produce the same attack on the Twitter site but because the social network had a higher level of security than New York Times, the hackers failed.
Conclusion: Prevention is better than cure...

ANOTHER HOUSE - The World Film Festival of Montreal 2013

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The opening film of the FFM: "The other house" is a great movie!
Director Mathieu Roy was able to clearly identify the subject of Alzheimer's disease.
For those who knew the father of Mathieu, the renowned journalist and editor in chief Michel Roy and his son Patrice, the film takes a different angle for the two journalists have inspired characters in the film.
A wonderful phrase of the dialogue: "We all go from a point A to point B. You should never let anyone lead you into the night ..." - Quote by the character Henri Bernard in the movie "The other house" by Mathieu Roy.
A film both very upsetting on the human side and which we can all identify with; very entertaining in terms of the scenario that is neither too long nor too short; and with beautiful photographic images. Three elements that make a great movie! A beautiful to see movie!

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The new Place d'Armes in Montreal in front of Notre Dame Basilica is becoming the place for tourism gathering in Montreal. The renovation of the space in front of the Basilica and the addition of sculptures made the place attractive and more inviting than before. One could conclude that for once the designers of the city of Montreal won their bet!

The excellent journalist for La Presse in Montreal, Laura-Julie Perreault (38 years old) just arrived in Boston for a stay of one year to study journalism at Harvard University on a scholarship (Martin Wise Goodman Canadian Nieman Fellowship, a former president of Toronto Star Newspapers group). I met Julie in the mid-1990s when she was working for LeSoleil with my former colleague and friend, the great journalist Michel Vastel (1940-2008). DENIS POITRAS - Lawyer

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
Denis Poitras exist in real life and his story is both dramatic and very romantic but if an author wanted to invent a hero character, he would not have done better. The history of the lawyer for the Quebec students "Red square", Denis Poitras, is like the featured character in the new book by J.K Rowling: THE COCKOO'S CALLING. In the case of Poitras, the story is even more romantic and it would make a excellent novel or a movie on the scale of bestseller.

by Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The political situation in Acadia during the great deportation of 1755 looked a bit like the current one in Egypt, without the modern media and the high number of the Egyptian population. Fortunately for the Acadians, their modern situation is happier and today date of August 15, 2013 is time for party.

by Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
Rafael Nadal easily won the grand final simple at Tennis Rogers Cup 2013 in Montreal 6-2, 6-2 against Canadian Milos Raonic player.
The victory of Rafa recalled the memories of 2005 when the young Nadal won the Montreal tournament against the champion at the time, but who was ready to retire: Andre Agassi. Some fans who were hoping that the youngster Raonic would the same thing in 2013 were disappointed because Nadal was untouchable in his win and his game!
"Well done and congratulations!"
"See you in two years," concluded Rafa ...

The model of the new Washington Post and the future of newspapers ...

by Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
The formula that will adopt the new Washington Post could become the new form of survival for all North American newspapers!
The sale of the prestigious Washington Post to the creator Amazon could be a significant turning point in the path of newspapers and their search for a new profitability in today's world dominated by the Internet and new media. However, the result will have to be seen.
Two factors, however, are certain: 1. Jeff Bezos is rich, 2: He was able to make his company Amazon the leader unrivaled in the industry.
