DIMITRI SOUDAS - STEPHEN HARPER CONFIDENT CHANGE CAMP...

The war is declared between the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party and the only way for Stephen Harper to win this battle is to eliminate Dimitri Soudas from the battlefield before he can attack and strike at the heart of the current Prime Minister... 
Dimitri Soudas, who was until recent time one of the few close confidants of Harper has betrayed his former mentor. Indeed, Eve Adam, conservative MP and Dimitri Soudas left the Conservative Party to join Justin Trudeau. This change of camp reminds the one of Belinda Stronach, who had left Harper to join with Paul Martin. Stronach was also at the time the girlfriend of Peter MacKay who had then cut off the relationship, feeling betrayed by his lover. What had been a coup, however, had never really been profitable for Paul Martin. 
Adam and Soudas were for some time in rejection from the Conservative Party but it is surprising and significant that Dimitri Soudas is at the center of this floor crossing! Moreover, the departure of Adam MP would be of little importance if it were not for the presence of Soudas in this exchange. Soudas is from Montreal and has been an official in the administration of former mayor Gerald Tremblay. He is very familiar with Quebec and it could be an asset in the campaign for Justin Trudeau. 
When asked if Soudas would work directly in the Liberal campaign, Justin Trudeau replied that the MP Adam brought with the move her collaborators and her family...

DIANA KRALL - AN ANGEL ON EARTH ...

Singer Diana Krall is currently on a promotional tour for her new album: WALLFLOWER. A beautiful album with Diana exceptional voice. 
I always had admiration for this artist and especially attracted to her voice and her music ever since the time she released her first album in 1993 (Stepping Out). 
I have also always loved her way as a woman, to say in other words, she is the kind of woman that I like...  
But unfortunately for me, she married on December 6, 2003 with another great singer Elvis Costello and the couple had twins in 2006 (born the same date as their wedding date on December 6...): Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James. 
I like to say that for me, Diana Krall is like an angel on earth... 
Her new album is worth listening to and listened again...

PIERRE KARL PÉLADEAU AND THE MUSIC BAND GROENLAND ...

The insult by Pierre Karl Peladeau to the singer of the group GROENLAND may explain itself finally by a particular situation, but which clearly shows that the artistic talent knows no boundaries of race, language either French, English or another language! 
One will recall that Pierre Karl Peladeau rose during a show in Abitibi and he yelled twice at the singer of the group asking her to sing in French! As the room was dark, the singer Sabrina Halde did not identified the person from her stage, but it is the spectators who recognized and were totally surprised by the anger of PKP who was a special guest at the show (VIP). The organizers said they were very disappointed that PKP used a popular music festival in the region (Abitibi Témiscamingue) to make party politics. The organizers described the gesture very rude! 
GROENLAND BAND is of great quality and one just have to listen to their two albums to see that. The singer Sabrina Halde has an extraordinary voice that I compare to Diana Krall, while the lyrics are profound with a little romance like the Leonard Cohen's. The group specializes in the INDIE MUSIC style, which means independent music and usually living an English-speaking environment. 
When questioned, the spokesman of PKP said his boss was an ardent defender of the French language...  
But the real reason might be that the composer of texts and one of the group's musicians with GROENLAND is Jean-Vivier Lévesque the son of another great Quebec composer Raymond Lévesque... We all know the deep passion of Raymond for the French language and the latter is a friend of PKP. Probably the real reason of PKP insults to the group is, according to some, that Raymond would be sad that his son do not play in a French band... 
I had never listened to the songs of Groenland Band before but the words of Pierre-Karl Peladeau led me to delve SPOTIFY and put the album in my favorites. An album to be listen to! 
The insult by PKP might finally be a push for the group. I even predict that the show TOUT LE MONDE EN PARLE will invite them to their show next week...

RADIOSHACK AND THE BEAUTIFUL TIME ...

RadioShack was the inspiration for Microsoft, Apple and even Future Shop and it is these companies that have caused the disappearance of their creator... 
Indeed, if RadioShack was the first to offer to the general public a home computer (the TRS-80 and Atari) Apple and Microsoft have cornered the market later to totally eliminate the competition. Large retailers such as Future Shop, Best Buy and even Staple (Staples) gave the final blow to RadioShack. 
In addition to home computers, one can even think that RadioShack, with its TANDY PC8, was also a precursor of our modern smart phones of today. 
In Canada, Radio Shack stores were sold some years and are known as The Source who continue to hold small shops but the stores are very far from what was in the heyday at RadioShack before the Future Shop, Best Buy and Apple Retail Stores!

WAR PHOTOGRAPHER according to LYNSEY ADDARIO - "IT'S WHAT I DO"

The internationally renowned war photographer, Lynsey Addario, has just published her autobiography: "IT'S WHAT I DO". A book that tells the journey of this photo-journalist well known for her reports published in The New York Times. 
One can make a connection between the book and the one published by Anderson Cooper also for a time war correspondent. 
The Addario book is personal and very moving. We can not remain emotionless after this reading. It also includes photos taken by Addario during her travels in various countries political uprising. In addition to addressing the general public, Lynsey Addario recounts her vision of photography and on reading light. All photographers will appreciate this book that will certainly become a classic works in journalism and photography. 
This book will also serve certainly for a scenario of a big screen movie. 
A book to read and keep in one library among the exceptional book!

STEPHEN HARPER AND THE FEDERAL ELECTIONS IN QUEBEC

The federal election is open and Stephen Harper's strategy is becoming clearer regarding Quebec. Convince public figures to run for his party. 
After the journalist Pascale Dery, now Michel Surprenant would be interested in the invitation. His reason: military positions taken by Stephen Harper and the results of his actions on the economy plan. 
The race will not be easy for the two opponents Justin Trudeau and Thomas Mulcair. 
It will be interesting to see which federal candidates support the organizations of Quebec political parties? Several local politicians, like Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, who was a direct rival to Justin Trudeau at the Liberal Party will likely be more favorable to Stephen Harper...

MICROSOFT AND WINDOWS 10

The new Microsoft OS WINDOWS 10 will be available during the week of January 26, 2015 for developers and it will be free for all as an upgrade before the end of 2015. A new browser will also be created called Spartan replacing the Explorer and Microsoft will market a hologram system with a special helmet.

MARK ZUCKERBERG AND BOOKS

Mark Zuckerberg launched its Reading Club in early January as the resolution of the new year and already members are in their second book. 
The first two titles: THE END OF POWER by Moisé Naim and THE BETTER ANGELS OF OUR NATURE by Steven Pinker are totally related to current events in the world. 
The End of Power describes well the situation of power, or lack thereof, at the level of our society while The better Angels of our Nation raises the finding that human life has never been more peaceful than now when compared with the previous eras in the history of the world. 
The goal of the Reading Club (in English) is to propose a different book every two weeks throughout the year 2015. 
A beautiful year of reading in perspective! Congratulations Mark!
