ELECTIONS IN QUEBEC - 2018

ELECTIONS IN QUEBEC - 2018 -
By Bernard Bujold -
An election is usually won by the polarization of the debate over voters, as was the case in the United States in 2016 with Donald Trump against Hillary Clinton or in Ottawa in 2015 with Justin Trudeau against Stephen Harper.
Here in Quebec in 2018 this polarization has not yet taken place and we are a few weeks away from the vote. There is no such "ballot question" or as the Americans say: "the wedge politics".
François Legault has not succeeded so far in imposing his difference as the Trump and Trudeau did!
There was a door open during the last year but Legault was afraid to seize it and he preferred to stay away from a polarized debate.
My conclusion: the current government of Philippe Couillard will not be defeated but will return to minority.
I therefore maintain my projection of 60 LIB / 40 CAQ / 23 PQ / and 2 QS.
To be continued...
